I missed out on Life..

I got this from my boss yesterday, they were laughing because I looked like a kid daw, so happy with all smiles when I received it:

Well, its just a piggy bank! A small one and we call him Chunnie the Piggy.. : ) (although its not really a piggy!) So they were wondering why I was so happy like a kid.. Well, I guess its because I never had a piggy bank before! not that I can remember, and then everyone started laughing.. Hay, super slow talaga ngayon sa bank, that we end up just chatting almost for half an hour with small interruptions kapag may phone call.. And then of course, because of this I had a random thought.

What other things didn't I get to experience? Or never had when I was a kid way back in Manila??

1. School Bus- never akong nag school bus kasi malapit lang kami sa school.
2. Camping - hanggang retreat lang ako.. wala yatang camping activities sa scholl namen e..
3. Girl Scouts - nope! not a member.. siguro kung nag GS ako, naka experience sana ko ng camping.
4. Prom Night - super loser no? never got the chance to go to a Prom..
5. Sports Fest- never! i never excelled on any sport!
6. Riding a bike- nope! never learned this either..
7. Swim - di din ako marunong..
8. Rollerblades - i remember nauso yan when I was younger, ako pa.. ang taong lampa at walang balanse! cympre di din ako natuto! haha
9. Jumping Rope - do i need to explain further??
10. Raincoat and boots - never had those! kapag baha kc nka tsinelas ako pagpasok.. or di na lang ako papasok! hahaha..

I think I can go on and on with my list.. but this were the first 10 that I thought of while at work..
This made me realize on how "sheltered" (as how my co-workers described it) my life was.. so now, I'm starting to challenge myself and try things that I never experienced before.. And that's the reason why every small thing that they give me, I always feel so happy as a kid!

Allergy remedy

My dad has asthma of the skin and allergic rhinitis, and you know that one factor that can trigger an attack is dust. Since we are all busy with our schedule at work, we make it a point that we have some cleaning during saturday mornings. My mom uses the Ladybug steam cleaners , and I noticed on how it's easy to use. It doesn't shoo away the dust at all, so in no time , we have a clean place, especially the sofas and rugs. This lessens my dad's contact with allergens, so we highly recommend this product for cleaning.

Laptop Memory

Dont ask me anything about this laptop. I am not a techie person, and I just bought this laptop for internet purposes, and storing pictures of our family. When I went to the computer store before, I just got myself a trusted brand and asked the salesperson for any feedbacks regarding the product. I just want a fast processor and a big memory for storage of files and pictures. They even said something about ram , and obviously, that is something I can't even remember now. I am enjoying my laptop now, and it served its purpose already.

Chair talk

When I was in Manila last May, my sister bought a new 40 inch plasma TV for our living room. It is complete with the home entertainment system and all I can say is wow! We spent the entire afternoon watching DVD's , then after dinner, we hit the Videoke for some singing action. There's only one thing lacking though, home theater chairs . Before I left, I told her to go and look for a really good one to match the entertainment system, for the complete home theater satisfaction. I wonder if they found one already , since most that we've seen before were quite heavy in the pocket.

Easy at work

Finally, we are not that busy with work lately. Me and my officemates usually have small chit chats after lunch, since by 11am, I am done with all my reports. Last Friday, I had nothing to do after lunch, so i just checked on what office supplies we need for the next month. I noticed we are lacking on pens so I requested for some bic pens that we can use for our pens. I love Bic because of it's quality and I find it really smooth to use. My officemates asked for different colors too. With nothing to do with work, it sometimes gets boring at all.

Candy and Gelli plus Wu Chun

See its just not me and a bunch of youngsters that are going crazy over Wu Chun.. As I stumbled upon Ms. Candy Pangilinan's PEP blog, I found out that she's also a fan of Wu Chun.. and Gelli De Belen too!!! Nakakatawa on how she recalls their "quest" to meet Chun and Calvin when they went to Manila. So as it turns out, they're adicted to watching Asianovelas as well and will bring they're portable dvd players to watch if they're on the road!! Hahaha.. it feels so good to realize na hindi lang pala ako ang na-aaddict sa mga ito!! And much more I've been a fan of her lalo na pagdating sa haircut and my sis, as far as I know likes Ms. Gelli. Even mga artists sa tin, they waited for them while they were having an interview. Kakatuwa nga yn mga pics ni Ms. Candy while they're at the corner waiting.. Here's some excerpts from her blog:
Candidly

I am a confessed Asian drama fan. Not merely a Koreanovela addict. I also watch Taiwanese, Japanese, Hong Kong, and Thai series and movies. I also check out their other show formats. I go online through mysoju, crunchyroll, etc. I have infected Gelli de Belen with this addiction...

I never knew that being a “fan” can actually give one that roller coaster of fleeting, extreme, mixed emotions....

Message from Gelli De Belen: Candy, Wu Chun is on TV now. Entertainment Live being interviewed by Toni now. Meron sila bukas sa ASAP and The Buzz. You have to do something…go!....

7:00 p.m. Saturday: Gelli called again. “Candy, watch PDA now. Bilis, guest na naman sila. Hindi mo pa sila nakikita.”.....

Whew! I was about to start this show I was hosting, and there was no TV around. “Calm down, Candy,” I told myself. “I’m going to see them tom.” The face of Wu Chun was plastered on my mind. Gosh! I felt stupidly funny but happy at the same time. I haven’t really felt this “kilig” for the longest time. I haven’t really been a fan to anyone at this level. That moment I declared that I like guys with chinky eyes or the Chinese mestizo type.....

Looking back, I can’t help but laugh at ourselves. We were truly avid fans…to the highest level. We spent two hours and a half exchanging notes and observations about the Asian novelas, movies. and actors…Mali…Mga 45 minutes lang. Kasi the rest was spent solely on Wu Chun...

ABS-CBN Lobby main entrance: Good and reliable Kate was waiting for us. Then we saw Tita Milette Santos who also helped us. She asked us to join her and the Wu Chun and Calvin Chen team, all waiting at the Lobby. Gosh! Welcome committee kami. Todo na ito. At ang konti lang namin doon. Todo na talaga ito. Hindi na namin alam ni Gelli kung ano ang gagawin namin..

Super lapit nila sa amin but we didn’t dare talk to them. They asked for food. Sabi ko na nga ba, eh. Gelli and I were debating whether we should bring them food or not. In the end, the two were given food from the catering outside. Sayang naman....

We stayed during the whole interview, until we were given the chance to have a photo op with them. Todo! We just couldn’t get enough of them. My heart stopped for a second when I shook hands with them. Merong breath suspension na medyo nakakatawa and nakakatakot because baka magdire-diretso. Hahahaha!....

Get to know Grimace

As we are basically dead these past couple of days at the bank, we find ourselves with nothing to do, and with that of course nothing's more hard than pretending to be busy when you're really not! : ) And today all of a sudden I brought up this conversation about Mc Donald's and on how their mascots are totally not "kid-friendly". Just like Hamburglar, he's wearing somewhat like a prison outfit right? And then I asked them about Grimace... Growing up in Manila, I tried to explain to them that we have our own number 1 fast food chain called JOLLIBEE.. And I've always wondered what's a Grimace?? To be honest I thought it's like a grape so it probably represents grape juice!! hahahaha.. Each of us have different ideas but none matches on what we found out on what in the world is Grimace?? So here's what we found on the net:
  • Grimace is a large, anthropomorphic tastebud with short arms and legs; he is known for his slow-witted demeanor. His most common expression is the word "duh". Originally, Grimace was the "Evil Grimace", with two pairs of arms with which to steal milkshakes. After that first campaign, the character was revised to be one of the "good guys", and his number of arms was reduced by two. Commercials and merchandise generally portrayed him as a well-meaning simpleton, whose clumsy antics provided a comic foil to Ronald McDonald. The character was retained after the streamlining of the characters in the '80s. ** from wikipedia**
Wow, so what?? he's a TASTEBUD?? hahaha.. He's been associated with milkshakes whom he's fond of stealing.. We cannot help but laugh the whole time and I promised them that I'll post it on my blog.. After that I shared with them our own Jollibee and I was so surprised that their official website is pretty good.. I was kinda scared first because sometimes some companies in the Philippines really don't have a nice website. And of course they find Jollibee the mascot to be so cute, they were browsing about the menu and I had to kind of explain it to them, especially the Palabok Fiesta and I guess they do have a Tuna Pie in the menu now..

So yeah, with this not so good economy right now here in the US, this is how we spend a day at work.. Random questions some senseless, some funny and some serious as well..

Excess: On Jollibee's website it says that a store will open here in Stockton in Winter 2008!!! Woohoo!! It's about time!! More about this next time were bored at work! : )

Free Medical Software

Me and my family went to he hospital the other night to visit my uncle who was hospitalized due to some medical complications. As I was waiting outside the room , I saw an advertisement at the bulletin board about free medical windows mobile software , something that would go with PDA's and other mobile devices. I got really interested and read the offer by Epocrates. If you are not familiar with Epocrates, it is a company that provides softwares for medical professional. This software is really a big help to the doctors and other medical staff, because most of it has the details of patients, and other medical files that would really come handy with your medical supplies. Now they can access files anywhere easily. So spread the word about this free offer from Epocrates.

This announcement was paid for by Epocrates.

Still Busy

Not much update for now, as I am too busy with work. Upon going home, I would rather rest and watch my favorite shows on prime time. I would just go online to finish my assignments, check me email and my friendster account too. Would you believe im not even doing some real shopping during weekends.

I hope to get back on track by August. July was such a busy month!

Not your drama queen

You Are a Drama Princess (or Prince)

You're not over the top dramatic, but you have your moments.

You know how to steal the spotlight...

And how to act out to get your way.

People around you know that you're good for a laugh.

But at times, your drama gets a bit too much for everyone.

Tone it down a tad, and you'll still be the center of attention.

Be Beautiful

One of my officemates at the bank who influenced me with Bare Escentuals is currently enrolled in one of the top beauty schools in the country. She only told me about this when she needs a model for an exam and she is asking me to help her out. I eagerly said yes when she told me that she needs to color and treat my hair. I got even more excited because she told me that the school uses high - end products during their exams. I think she is planning to get into cosmetology next time, with focus on facial make- up , also at Regency Beauty Institute. Now I am also thinking of enrolling myself there after hearing her great feedbacks on this beauty institute. I just wish I have the time for now as I am so swamped with work.

You are very open to new experiences, and even more open to new ideas and theories.

Wisdom and personal accomplishment are important to you.

You are naturally sophisticated. You are drawn to art, especially art by independent artists.

You are likely to be financially well off... and not because you were born that way.

online university

I am really thinking of getting a new course for additional knowledge, something in line with banking or business since I am a graduate of Accountancy. However, with my schedule now, and having 2 jobs , I find it close to impossible to enroll myself in another course. But lo and behold, I saw a Capella University , and they offer online university degree for busy people like me. I will be taking the courses through the internet and that would save me time since I can get into my studies at home after work. Capella University has a trusted , and tested program for online schooling and I can't wait to get in touch with them by tomorrow. I hope I can get into a new course by next month.

Mall Hit yesterday

Went to the mall with my mom and dad yesterday , before I headed to the Arena. I bought a few toiletries for myself and a nice polo shirt with jeans for my nephew. Since we are expecting a new baby ( a girl, by the way) by November, I already checked out some dresses and cute little shoes for the new princess in our house. I went all over the place and got a few items again. I just met up with my dad ( who bought himself some air tools ) around two hours after. It was another tiring day, but as always , I had so much fun shopping .

Dreaming about Vegas

As i recently posted, I am planning to have another week long vacation at Vegas, if my schedule at the bank would permit me to. I've recently seen over the TV and magazines some new attractions in the area, not to mention some shopping stores, and this makes me really excited. I called my cousin in LA , because prior to visiting Vegas, I will first stay with him and his family for a few days, then we will all troop to Vegas to have see our dream destination. Truly, Las Vegas vacations are worth waiting.

Back to Vegas

It's been 2 years since I last visited my relatives in LA, and I am excited to see them again this year for a short 1 week vacation. Just like last time, we are planning to go crazy shopping at downtown. A side trip to Las Vegas is also a part of our itinerary, so I am looking for a nice hotels in las vegas , and we are getting two rooms. I didn't tried playing last time , but im definitely giving it a try next time , since I enjoyed my casino experience at Reno.

Handyman

We just discovered that a few items in our house needs replacements already. And as I mentioned earlier, we need to get some carpets at the home section. Then my dad will stay at the Hardware section to get some lighting fixtures and bar faucets . This section is really my dad's favorite, and he can stay there while me and my mom check out the shoes and clothes section. Come Sunday, it's renovating and redecorating day for us. Whew! Busy weekend ahead.

For the home

We will be out during the weekend for some shopping. No, its not really for my OWN shopping, but we will look for some baby girl stuff for the latest addition in our family by November. I am so excited to finally buy those cute little dresses for little girls. Then we are also dropping by the home section, we need to get a new home theater carpet because the one we have for now needs replacing badly. I can't wait to hit the mall again, its been a while because I got too busy with work lately.

on diet?

I am certainly not on diet. Before , i really tried, but now, i just cant. I am enjoying the food here and our clients at the bank just keeps on sending me chips and chocolates. So even if im at work , i have something to munch. My body frame is still okay since I can still wear my old clothes. But if time will come that I would notice some changes, I might try the best diet pill in town just to lose weight. I am not a fan of exercising, im just too lazy to do that.

Something for the eyes

Been wearing eyeglasses for quite a long time, and I also have a set of contact lenses. However, when I am just at home, I prefer wearing eyeglasses. I am looking for Incredible Stylish New Frames From Zenni that I can use especially when i am online at home. My eyes easily gets tired staring at the computer screen. What do you think of this?

Zenni Optical was on FOX news! It was actually my mom who saw it on TV and called my attention to check out the website. And would you believe that Zenni Optical $ 8 Rx Eyeglasses are the cheapest I've seen so far. I guess my mom would also get one for herself.

Still on high

Oh yes, I am still glued over the net this weekend, looking for some updates about Wu Chun in Manila. He is soo good looking and I wish I'm still in Manila now to have a glimpse of him. Though he looks a bit slim now( though im sure he is not into diet pills ), he's still HOT ! I can see some TV hosts who really can't control their emotions after seeing him. Hahaha. I recorded his appearances on tv through our TFC , so I have something to do when boredom strikes.

Jologs Fever

Yup that's what me and my friends Ivy call this craziness both of us have been doing lately.. She can't believe herself when she actually went to SM Bicutan to watch a mall show. But just as she was saying how she can't believe that she went ahead and did that, right now I was laughing so hard because I've been one myself.. And so yes.. we are infected of the JOLOGS FEVER!!!

Well, as you can see on my posts, I've been uber excited since Wu Chun will be in Manila. Actually HE IS ALREADY!!!! I've been following it online and has been glued to our TFC to catch every glimpse of him.. SUPER GWAPO!!! hahaha.. And so I was chatting with Ivy this morning while browsing youtube for any Wu Chun in Manila uploaded videos already.. And hey, I just cannot believe myself as well.. I was following every step of the way...

I really do admire the fans that really went in there super early in the morning to catch a glimpse of Chun and Calvin.. and all the super fanatics in general regardless of who their idol is.. To make an effort to see them.. against all odds ang drama! I don;t think I'm on the verge of doing something like that though.. Although I've been hoping to travel to Taiwan or HK or maybe in Manila, if ever Chun will have a show there.. Hahaha..

Hay, ang buhay nga nman.. Paminsan-minsan bumabalik ang kabaliwan!

I'm Back!

At long last, we got our replacement modem the other day, and its good to have internet connection AGAIN!!!!! Something got wrong with my wireless router last Saturday and since then I didn't have any internet.. so yeah, the posts you read on here.. It's not mine.. It's my sister's for her pay per blog! hahahha.. It was so hard not having any internet, thank goodness I have my iPhone and so I was still able to chat with my sister or surf the web and watch stuff on Youtube.. But not having it for three days... yes, THREE DAYS really drove my mom crazy.. crazy.. crazy.. Syempre she wasn't able to see her super "bait" grandson, Joaquin.. (yeah, she goes online everyday just to see him on the webcam...) So it was major torture for me as well!!!

So yeah.. I'm here.. I'm back... and I'm blogging!

Hat Crazy

We will soon have a hat party in the office, and I am thinking of what to wear. I wanna look really posh in that occasion, as I always do. My officemates were busy searching for really nice hats at the mall, and when they asked me if I already have one, I just said that I'm still on cap hunt. They don't have an idea that I am into online shopping , because I already saw a nice website that has a wide variety of hat collection for men and women. I am just confused on which one to get. I am one excited kid for this party. I hope to be back with pictures, party is scheduled next weekend. Wish me luck.

Nothing to do

The other day, our internet connection was down the whole day, to think that It was a holiday, I have a lot of time to surf the internet, browse through new online items and chat with friends. But to my dismay, I wasn't able to do anything, so I just decided to clean stuff in our house and in our room. So this is what happens when you are bored. And to top that off, I had a 30- minute or so exercise. I've decided to purchase an exercise equipment ever since I came from my vacation in Manila. People there kept on telling that I look chubby, so I made it a point to do some exercise during weekends and holidays.

Intermittent

We've been experiencing intermittent internet connection here at home, and I am really pissed with whats happening. My laptop can't detect our wireless connection, but my I-phone can. So I really have no idea of what is wrong. Is it our connection? Or is it my laptop already ? Could there be anything that I need to re configure? Oh well, I will just call my service provider tomorrow , as I am too busy now to troubleshoot anything. I still have a pending order at one website where I found products that are really something you can call best buy . I hope I can checkout with my cart tomorrow.

To Do List

Hay, I spent the first of the three-day weekend by being a couch potato.. Yesterday was the 4th of July holiday, and I didn't even post a greeting to everyone. So how did I spend the holiday?? Bumming around in the laziest way possible. I didn't do a single thing, I think I can practically challenge anyone on c couch potato contest. I was online most of the day watching movies and shows, the only time I'll get up will be for bathroom breaks and lunch, which I took at 4pm! didn't get up to have dinner since I am so lazy! I had plans with my mom and dad to go and see the fireworks at night by the waterfront but of course I didn't go.. When laziness strikes, it can really take me down in just once simple blow..

Now I won't let laziness strike me again.. I have to get up and do something.. So here's my to-do list for saturday and sunday:

1. Shopping! - its the only you can spend your weekend here.. and i heard most stores will probably have their holiday sale! (since i've been reading about it a lot on my sis' blog! haha)

2. Balance my checkbook- its about time! but since I really haven't been spending much lately it shouldn't be hard.. I used to really be good at it but then I lost track. lazy me! : )

3. Clean my brusheS.. - yeap! that's with a whopping S at the end... I have so many BE make up brushes, and I think I need to clean them this week.

4. Just organize- I have receipts and letters that need to be shredded.. my stuff are basically everywhere and in relation to number 3.. I have to organize my make-upS.. I just got a new (well had it for over a month now) bare minerals collection kit.. Why I bought it? I really don't know!! I'll make sure I'll post that one for the BE addicts like me..

5. Picture..picture-- its been what, 2 months since my trip to manila and I STILL don't have my pictures printed. Although some of it were already posted on my multiply, I still wanted to have them printed, old school still huh?!?

Well i do hope i get to do these today and tomorrow.. And not just do NUMBER ONE then skip the rest!!!

Good Weekend everyone! : )

Purchasing Silver

After my vacation last May, I am now decided to save some of my money into something worthwhile. I am also into my second job, so I know that I still have a few money left for shopping. I am thinking of buying some gold or silver bullion , but its likely that i will get the second option, since the silver price is very competitive in the market nowadays. Silver has proved its industrial use already because it is a durable and divisible metal. It's unique properties , including malleability and ductility made it really a very useful metal nowadays. The Monex Company, something I have researched online sells gold and metal , and you have the option of having it safely kept at a vault , or have it delivered at your doorstep. I might give them a call over the weekend because I still need to ask them a few questions before finally jumping into my decision of buying. I trust Monex because of it's known reputation of being a trusted seller.

Lost ?

Alright, I have to admit that w almost got lost one time when we were still new here. We went to Sacramento, and on our way home, we exited on a wrong route ! Goodness! It was a bit late at night too, so I guess my dad wasn't able to see the signs clearly. Good thing, we realized it early , that the road doesn't seem familiar at all. So we changed route and was able to find our way back home. Now, there's no way we are getting lost, we got ourselves a gps tracking system already and it has been very effective to us.
