tRiCk or TrEat

I guess its that time of year... Halloween!!! Our bank goes all out celebrating this, probably much more than any other holidays/ events.. This is the first of the few. The Central Services building decided to have a pumpkin carving contest.. And so here I am, the girl born and raised in Manila, with no knowledge at all about what to expect. I mean back home, halloween is not a big thing, the Trick or Treat is not something you can see in every morning. So pumpkin carving? I have no idea at all what to expect! (to be honest I thought they're just going to carve one and put a candle or any kind of light inside! Lol!)

*** Ain't it cute?? a witchy pumpkin and a pirate one!! ***
I go to this building (well, almost every hour) for our works and mail run.. This time around I stayed longer than the usual because I enjoyed looking at the entries and of course.. The Goodies!! Chocolates, cookies and cakes overflowing!! I just can't resist!! Well, here are the rest of the carvings:
*** the CSIs are in town!! They won 2nd place***

*** This is my personal favorite.. Its called "Dying to work Here".. Haha.. And it even has an crumpled application form on its hand.. Its so funny, because this one is just right on the side of the door.. Poor thing, died before working with us!! LoL!***

*** This entry from our couriers won the first place.. And to be honest, it freaked me out when I saw it!! There was even smoke coming out of the month during the judging.. It was the chopped out leg that gives me the creeps!! ***

I told you were really all-out huh?? Well then I guess you have to wait for my Halloween costume party pictures.. Our department decided we'll dressed-up on a Western theme.. And everyone's pretty ready!! Happy Hallows!!

My japan-japan Pictures

My sis recently blogged about my nephew trying to practice the "japan-japan" poses.. I love those and she's right, when we went to Plantation Bay, Cebu last April I believe most of my pics were like that. But I called it my korean posing, since I think it was also shown on one koreanovela before (princess.. something??) totally forgot the title! And I didn't get to see it so I'm not really sure. Well, here's some of mine!

***Ivy took this picture! Villa Escudero, april 13 2007. It was me and some of my college friends.. Place is really beautiful and I had so much fun! Can you read my shirt?! LoL!***

*** Ate Jor making the pose! Shot from Joaquin's first bday at HardRock, Makati***

*** Oohh, I love these pics!! At Plantation Bay last April! I got hooked to this pose because most of the guests at the resort were korean, so me and my kuzin decided to go with it! The other pic was on the spa.. Believe me I really don't want to post this! although I think its funny.. Look at my sisters!! haha***

*** with Mark Jay during his videoke performance, and me with my drunken master friends!! hehe**

AND THE "JAPAN-JAPAN" EXPERIENCE GOES TO THE U.S.!!!

*** Come on!! I get bored here so I take my own pictures!! Hehe!!**

*** and this is with my friends from the bank, Lily and Connie.. They were so curious when they saw my vacation pics.. that i started to tell them the story behind the pose.. and then of course, I showed them how to do it!!***

And since I'm planning to go back to manila AGAIN probably by May, which basically means a lot of travelling and lots of pics, I definitely think that Joaquin really needs to practice so that I can have one with him!

Goin' crazy on Coach

After a two-week hiatus from hitting the malls, I finally decided yesterday that I can't stand it anymore!! I need to go out and shop.. And so I did, and the rest as I call it is shopping history.. AGAIN!!

It was our usual routine at first, my top priority will be to look for an outfit for my halloween costume at work, so went to TJ MAxx and Marshalls but didn't find anything. Oh, but I did bought a pair of 7 jeans, my sis was shocked knowing that its kinda pricey, but hey it was on sale! I wont buy it on its regualr price though.. I've been wanting to have a pair of True Religion but it was still expensive even with the markdown. So for my halloween outfit, I only got a pair of jeans..

Then off we went to Macy's, I really didn't see anything I want to buy so I figured might as well just look around. All of a sudden I found myself on their handbags section and I know right at that instant that they're having a sale! People are flocked into this one little corner, near their stall for Coach purses.. It was all a blur to me.. Couldn't remember clearly.. Next thing I know I'm holding 3 Coach purses with me.. Haha.. Here's the funny thing though, when I'm ready to check out I was thinking of using my dad's credit card ( since I am extension of it!) but then I cant find my ID on my wallet. Then the lady asked me if I wanted to apply for a Macys card since it will give me 20% off on my purchase.. And of course I said yes.. But then again she needs to see my ID. Where is my ID when I badly needed it?!! I know my dad had it since he picked up a package for me at the post office days ago. So I ended up paying it with my debit card. But my Coach craziness for whatever reason didn't end there.

I split up with my mom and dad when we got to the mall, and we'll meet up on our usual meeting place, so I went over there by the food court patiently waiting for them. Immediately when I saw my dad I asked him about my ID, he thought he didn't have it but thank God we found it together with his license. So do I even need to tell what happened next??!! Of course I went back to Macys and purchase two more, but I have my valid reasons ok?!! I also shopped for my sisters.. See? I don't only shop for myself, so my sisters are partly to blame to my shopping addiction!! HAHA!

This is the purse i got for my ate peachy.. Well I really picked it out for me, I was hoping she's gonna like the denim one, but I guess she really liked this one when she saw it on the webcam. I liked it cause its not the usual coach patchwork design. This is kinda, summery, ready-to-the beach kind of thing.

This one I got for my Ate Alma. Actually it was my mom who picked out this one for her, and of course fooled me by saying that she's gonna pay me back for it.. So as always, as a good daughter (haha) I told her Im going to pay for it.. Since she always felt that we shipped out every single name brands here in the US to my sisters in Manila! LOL! I think were too old now to have matching tops, shoes or purses.. But I guess that's what bound to happened?! Everything I find that's a nice deal, I always have to buy two more. See, that is really why I tend to shop a lot! I pretty much beat a preagnant woman eating for two!!
So I ended up buying five.. Yes, Five coach purses in a matter of 20 mins.. But what I did was have them all charged to my dad's credit card, and reverse the charges on mine! Smart move right??!

Im going Green

After seeing the news this morning about Lights Out SF. I found myself interested in it. It was a nice way of informing people about their cause, spreading awareness regarding their campaign. Hey I'm not from San Francisco, but I definitely will turn off lights for an hour tonight.

If its for a good cause, then count me in!

I got BOOED

With Halloween fast approaching, every one's crazy at work because of this thing going on.. I got BOOED!! Its like a chain letter of some sort, only this one is fun. Whenever you get a bag of candies, either sent to you by inter-branch mail or you'll find it on your desk, you have to send to three other people.. It was fun.. At first! But I've been booed! 3 times already which means I have to send out 9 bags of goodies!! Lately I've been recycling the chocolates I got and sending them out to people on other branches. I don't even know them, what I did was look up the employee directory and chose names to send my boos to. Just to keep the Halloween spirit going! Being at work for 2 years know, I have to come to love Halloween. Since its not a big deal on Manila, I don't have any sense of excitement and fun before but after last year's costume party and the boxes of chocolates we have at work.. Wow! I am so looking forward to it!

I hope to post pics of this one we'll be having.. We always dress-up in relation to a theme we've decided on a meeting. Last year was fun, the theme was 1950's, most of us dress on poodle skirts and the inspiration behind was the movie Grease.. This year we're going WESTERN!! YeeHA! Better shop for Halloween costume then..

tHe WaiT iS oVeR...

It really is.... after all the shipping confusions.. at long last, I'm reunited!! Actually, I just posted it now but I had it for maybe around two weeks now. Here it is my TechnoMarine.. It was a long journey for my watch and all those waiting really made me insane..

I chose the model online, its the TMCX11, with a denim strap. Then I had my brother-in-law checked it out for me on a store in Manila, since they already bought one.. Once he gave an approval on how the model looks, I went ahead and had him buy it for me. From Manila, they have a friend who's going to Virginia so we decided to have her ship it to me here in CA.. and from there the whole strings of confusion happened..
She shipped it thru USPS (which is the United States Postal Service), but then my sis got it mixed up with UPS... See the difference?? One letter freakin' threw everybody off!! haha.. I was more confident having it shipped thru UPS, since this is not an ordinary package and that the postmaster we have on our area is really such a pain!! I have been waiting for two weeks, and still no glimpse of my box yet, when it was almost going to three, I had it verified with my sister and have her ask her friend for the tracking number.. Here's the deal, working in the bank, I sent a lot of correspondents and package thru postal service and UPS as well. First glance of the trucking number I knew so well that its not UPS!! I was so upset that night and to make matters worse when I went online to USPS to track my package it says in there that two days after it was shipped they already received it!! WHAT!!! How in the hell did it happen?!! They said they attempted delivery, but no one is at home so they left a notice on our mailbox.. We didn't receive any notice!! My dad always checks our mailbox, and for two weeks we didn't receive not a single notice!! What a system!! My dad went to the post office the next morning, with just a note from me with the tracking number and a note which basically says that i didn't receive anything from them..
Whew! I thought I lost my watch! Aside from my techno, I got some couple of goodies from manila also.. a nice brown top with "puff" sleeve, a dress and the t-shirt that I've been looking for when I was there.. The shirt is a whole new story.. Anyways, I never got the chance to have a pictorial with my watch yet! hehe.. Been busy lately.. But with my iPhone and my TechnoMarine... I wonder what my next splurge will be?!

** My special thanks to Erika, my sister's dear friend for all the help**

What I've Learned About Friendship..

1.I've learned that there are many good friends around, but true best friends are hard to come by.
2.I've learned that sometimes you love a best friend more than a boyfriend.

3.I've learned that a best friend is more important than a boyfriend.
4.I've learned that you can do something or nothing with a best friend and still have the best time.
5.I've learned that a true friendship has many memories, both good and bad, but all important. 6.I've learned that sometimes the most used part of a best friend is the shoulder you cry on, and the shoulder you are willing to lend.
7.I've learned that when a best friend is happy, you find yourself happy too, even when it has nothing to do with you.
8.I've learned that a best friend's family soon feels like your own.
9.I've learned that the only one who truly understands is a true friend.
10.I've learned that nothing ever sounds stupid, funny, or unbelievable to a best friend, and you never feel stupid saying whatever it is.
11.I've learned that sometimes it feels like a best friend is the only one who will ever care about you and think you are beautiful in your own way.
12.I've learned that you always have that something extra to give to a best friend in need, and can count on that in return.
13.I've learned that your heart is forever touched by a true friend, no matter how things end up. 14.I've learned that when your heart has been broken, a best friend is the best band-aid for it. 15.I've learned that a best friend will call you in the middle of the night to talk without thinking, and it's OK.
16.I've learned that in many cases, a hug and a kind word from a best friend is the only thing that helps get you through the day.
17.I've learned that a best friend would stick up for you no matter what the consequences are. 18.I've learned that best friends can sing at the top of their lungs and not worry about singing the wrong words or being out of tune.
19.I've learned that best friends stay up all night and on the phone for hours talking without even realizing it.
20.I've learned that a best friend can tell the difference between a silly crush, and more than that.
21.I've learned that sometimes a best friend is all you have.
22.I've learned that sometimes you wonder how she knew, but then you realize that's just how close you are.
23.I've learned that when you are true best friends, everyone else knows it.
24.I've learned that, most importantly of all, best friends will always be best friends, no matter what is happening in their lives, where they are, or what they are doing. A best friend is irreplaceable. This is the most important thing I could have ever been taught by a best friend.

Fake yourself into Happiness..

Hmm.. Sounds pretty catchy.. I opened my Yahoo! homepage and this article really caught my eye! Sometimes its really more on how you say things that will get people to read your article..
I started reading and I find myself saying.. yeah kinda right.. sure things happen to me!!

I went ahead and click the site and started reading more about stuff. The gotogabby.com is just about anything and everything about health and fitness, beauty, nutrition and even clothing..
The article on Yahoo! really does give some good advice.. Here's a line from it that I really like:

"You focus on what is great about yourself, your life, and put a big smile on your face. Don't give in; remind yourself that people only see what we project."
